Clarene Novella Watts

January 29, 1928 - January 21, 2018

Clarene Novella Watts, passed away on January 21,2018 in Charlotte, NC, at the age of 90. A native of Arkansas, Clarene attended Newport Colored High School. A 63-year resident of the Peninsula (East Menlo Park, East Palo Alto and Palo Alto), Clarene was a founding member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church in East Palo Alto and was also a founding member of Mothers for Equal Education. Clarene, a retired real estate broker, helped many families achieve their dream of homeownership. She also worked as a housing specialist for both San Mateo County and Menlo Park.

Clarene will be lovingly remembered by her children, Cheryl Houston of Charlotte, NC, and David Rages (Joyce) of East Palo Alto), 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Clarene was predeceased by her husband, Roger Watts Sr. and two children, Mary Rages and Michael Rages.
